They are often used to fragrance the formula. In a rinse-off product, their presence does not allow for all the properties attributed to pure essential oil to be retained. Soap remains a cleanser that is rinsed off.

3. Are they synonymous with natural?
They can be of plant origin, but "natural" does not mean "suitable for everyone." The right criteria remain your preference, the complete composition, and the intended use on the product label.
4. Which MÂPÔ products contain them?
The Charbon soap notably contains tea tree. If you wish to avoid essential oils, Calendula & Camomille and Kokum are offered fragrance-free.
5. How to choose without making it complicated?
You like the scent and the formula suits you: choose one with essential oils. You prefer a simpler formula: choose one without added fragrance. No sales pitch replaces reading the label yourself.
