Visible pores: what factors affect their appearance?

Pores can appear more or less visible depending on the light, shine, and condition of the skin. A soap can clean the surface, but it does not close the pores.

1. Why are they more visible?

They often stand out in shiny areas, such as the nose and forehead. Lighting and magnifying mirrors also accentuate their appearance. Look at your skin from a normal distance before concluding that they have changed.

2. Can they be opened or closed?

No, not like a door. Warm water does not "open" them, and cold water does not "close" them. Choose a comfortable water temperature and focus on simple cleansing, without looking for a dramatic sensation.

3. Should I scrub more?

No. Brushes, repeated exfoliation, or pressure on the nose can mostly lead to discomfort. Lather with your hands, rinse well, and pat dry gently. Skin does not need to "squeak" to be clean.

4. What can a charcoal soap do?

The MÂPÔ Charcoal soap cleanses and then rinses away. It makes no promises to close pores or permanently change their size. Choose it for its formula and your user experience, not for an impossible transformation.

5. What results should I look for?

After washing, look primarily for comfort, a feeling of cleanliness, and a lack of tightness. For a simple routine for oily or combination skin, consult our guide on how to cleanse without stripping.

In short

Cleansing, yes. Closing pores, no. A gentle and consistent routine is better than an aggressive one designed to erase the normal texture of the skin.
