Blackheads or sebaceous filaments: how to tell the difference?

On the nose, the small visible dots are not always blackheads. Many are sebaceous filaments, which are natural and often more uniform.

1. What do sebaceous filaments look like?

They are often small, numerous, and distributed fairly evenly across the nose or chin. They can be gray or beige in color. They may become visible again even after cleansing.

2. What does a blackhead look like?

It is generally darker, more isolated, and less uniform. However, a magnifying mirror can make any texture look dramatic. Look at your skin from a normal distance before trying to intervene.

3. Should you squeeze them?

No. Squeezing, scratching, or rubbing can mainly irritate the area. Cleanse gently, rinse well, and leave the skin alone. An aggressive routine does not guarantee a perfectly smooth nose.

4. What can a soap do?

A soap removes surface impurities and then rinses off. It does not permanently empty pores or treat blackheads. Also, check out our guide on the real role of cleansing.

5. Is the Charcoal soap suitable?

The MÂPÔ Charcoal soap is recommended for oily or combination skin. Choose it for its formula and your comfort, without expecting it to erase the natural texture of your nose.

In short

Filaments are often numerous and uniform; blackheads are more isolated. In both cases, cleanse without squeezing or stripping the skin.
